This album brings an hour of original compositions by Bickerton, and refreshing ones at that. Almost all the tracks bespeak a thoughtful musical intelligence, full of angular beauty. ‘Snowfall,’ for instance, begins almost somberly, but with the introduction of percussion and bass, the mood shifts to peaceful – and shifts again, constantly conjuring up new scenes.
